YESTERDAY

Throughout these decades, which I refer to as 'Yesterday', Westover underwent numerous changes.  These changes included aircraft, facility additions, major reporting commands, mission, and units assigned to the base.  Most of these changes were brought about due to armed conflicts, an increase to U.S. security against foreign aggressors, society, politics, and economics.

I often think about the phrase: "It was the best of times, it was the worse of times" (Charles Dickens: 'A Tale Of Two Cities), and how it pertains to this period of time at Westover - an old Army Airfield transfigured into a major Strategic Air Command Installation, only to endure a deactivation; it literary was "the best of times" and "the worse of times" for Westover.
